Mud gun is a specialized tool for preventing mud deposition which is conducive for ZJ driller-mud fixed control system. It is widely used in the cycling system of drilling mud. Power of source of the mentioned device derives from reflux system or low-pressure centrifugal pump of drilling mud pump.
Mud gun is meant to provide supplemental or primary mixing in mud tanks depending on the number being used and the pit size. They are best used in tank corners to keep solids from settling and a mud agitator is placed in the tank center. The mud gun in the mud system is also used for transfer mud from compartment to compartment, like for trip tank compartment.
Mud gun is divided into pressure mud gun and low pressure mud gun.High pressure mud gun have small output volume, big pressure, usually have a drilling pump supply liquid.
It features in simple structure, flexible operation, convenient application, making itself an ideal anti-deposition device of mud solids control system.
Mud cleaner has an efficient solids-fluids processing design, which consists of a linear shale shaker, desander with two 10” cones and a desilter with twelve 4” cones primarily used to eliminate 20 – 76 microns of sand and mud in the underflow.
The drilling fluid will firstly pass the desanding cyclones or desilting hydrocyclones for separation, with overflow returning to the circulatory system and the bottom flow screened and treated by the vibrating screen. If necessary, the vibrating screen of the integrator could be used as the forestage vibrating screen.
drilling fluid desanding and desilting integrated mud cleaner, or integrator for short, is used for separating the solid-phase granules in the drilling fluid after treated by the shaker screen.

Mud agitator is a part of solid control system, which is mainly used in agitating and blending drilling fluid so as to control the depositions of solid particles in its tank cycling system and keep the drilling mud property of circulation stable and mixture uniform.The drilling mud agitator are required for storage mud tanks, or mud tank with solids control equiment.
Brightway mud agitator is driven by an explosion-proof motor, coupled to a gear box that drives the impeller shaft. The impellers (turbines) transform mechanical power into fluid circulation or agitation. The objective is to obtain a uniform suspension of all solids.

4. Shared sunction tank for desilter and desander:
If the mud desander desilter share a sunction tank, then half drilling fluids is treated by desilter and another half by desander. That means, 50% of the fluids pumped into the well is not treated by desander and another 50% not by desilter, thus betraying the basic rule of successive treatment and disabling the desamder to effectively reduce the solids load in desilter.
5. Two centrifugal pumps in parallel to supply the same equipment:
It is commonplace in the configuration of solids control system because, with 30m pressure head and 25L/s funnel nozzle, two centrifual pumps installed in parallel equal to a pump with 30m pressure head and 25L/s funnel nozzle.
If the single pump does not have required pressure head of the equipment, then it is not proper to place another one in parallel, but rather to examine if it is in good condition. If it is but the pressure head is still not up to the scratch, then replace the propeller with a larger one.

1. Weak capacity of solids control equipment:
It should be taken into consideration how much the fluids can be injected into mud tank according to equipment’s actual capacity and how much the flow rate is in mud agitator in order to guarantee the quality of processing the fluids.
2. Return of the rough solids removed by shaker screen in mud cleaner:
If the liquid flow all returns to the system, that means nothing has been taken away. Thus, the solid particles left on the screen of mud cleaner ought to be removed.
3. Installation of vaccum degasser at the downstream of hydrocyclones:
If the degasser is placed behind the equipment supplied by centrifugal pump, the pump can be blocked by entraining gases. Entrained fluids will reduce its flow rate and working efficiency of hydraulic cyclones. If the gases are poisonous, it is better to remove them in the first mud tank rather than the third or the fourth one.
Drilling decanter centrifuge is the solid control equipment of final phase. It is used after the equipment of shale shaker, desander ,desilter, mud cleaner and other related equipment. The product can process drilling fluid of weighted type, unweighted type, water-based type and oil-based type.
By using mechanical energy to increase gravitational force up to which is applied on the solids, it can separate both heavy and fine solids from drilling fluid. When working with the other solid control equipment, the product shows great superiority in keeping proper mud weight and viscosity. Then, the drilling fluid can meet the requirements of oil drilling completely.
Mixing with the acceleration phase: the material into the mud mixer and get into the correctly predicted to accelerate, to ensure that the best state of the material into the separation zone.Clarify the stage: the role of the centrifugal, the materials in the drum line segments rapid separation and sedimentation,the supernatant was separated in the drum weir discharge port.
Compression stage: the propeller will be sent to the discharge side of solid deposition, the material under the action of the centrifugal force can be further compressed, and the release of pore water.Compression in the right section: the drum section of the cone, the material produced by the specially designed biaxial compression, screw conveyor family properly designed, produced along the axis of extrusion pressure.
The handrails that is made of steel square tubes are equipped on the edge of tank top surface, same as the steel stairs, which can be easily removed for transportation together with the mud tank. A water pipeline is also equipped on the top for cleaning the tank surface and equipments. The mud tanks also have cleanout opening to clean the sludge that precipitate in the tank. and the above mentioned five stage purification equipments are all mounted on the steel beam of the tank proof to maintain the stability of the system.
Ⅵ· How to Allocate the Mud Tank for the Drilling Rig.
According to its function in solid control system, the mud tanks include suction tank, agitator tank, storage tank, etc. The allocation of mud tank for the drilling rig depends on the depth of the well, and also the purification stage requirement.
Normally, the first three solid control stages is completed on the tank No.1, which includes shale shaker, vacuum degasser, desander, while the fourth & fifth stages would be on the tank No.2, which means desilter &decanter centrifuge, and the main function is for the centrifuge. While the other tanks will depends on the depth of the well, but also the mud demands of the drilling technique. Normally the large type drilling rig needs over 6 mud tanks.

For the third purification stage, a centrifugal pump would be used to suck up the drilling mud into the desander, after separate & discharge the solids, and the mud would enter again down into the third compartment. And the same for the desilter. And for the fifth stage of solid control system, a vertical slurry pump would be used to suck up the mud into the decanter centrifuge from the compartment that below the desilter. After separating & discharging, the drilling mud would enter again into the mud tank. and then sucked up by the mud pump into the down hole to recycle again.
v· How to make a mud tank.
According to the bottom shape difference, the mud tanks normally includes square shape tanks & ellipse tanks. According to the standards,

The mud tank is made of the steel plate & square tube, with the smooth cone-shape structure or the corrugated structure. 8mm thickness of the steel plate is required by the industrial standard on the tank bottom m, and 6mm for the side & top plates.The surface are made of slip-resistant steel plate. It also has walkway on the top made of also slip-resistant steel screen plate for workers to check & maintain the solid control equipment on the tank.
